 Grainger 433XC Cruising Catamaran

 Owners Comments

Searching for the right boat can be a long and frustrating experience. Before purchasing Cat Man Do! We travelled widely, including overseas, before we found the boat we chose as the best around. The time line was over 2 yrs to find the right boat. The boat fitted our needs for cruising up and down the East coast with the ability and potential to do overseas cruising.

Fit-out and boat construction are important factors in selecting a boat and Cat Man Do! fitted the bill well.

We were looking for a professionally built boat that had a pedigree and designer who knew about sailing and boat design. Grainger met these demands as an experienced designer for Australian standards and conditions with a pedigree that goes back many years. We were confident that the boat would fulfill our needs and more.

The boat is a beautiful streamlined vessel that looks good when sailing and sails at good speed. It has a large carrying capacity with good sailing features and many on board facilities. Being a locally professionally built boat, with owner involvement, the quality of the build was assured. There are no creaking floors or lightweight compromises that weaken the strength of the boat as can be found on other massproduced vessels from overseas or ex fleet hire boats.

This vessel was built to very high standards for the initial owner who was emphatic about the build quality and material standards.  This meant that we, as the second owners, benefitted from this and the high quality materials and workmanship that went into the build.  - From the leather settee to luxury timber finishes.

With the build quality and high standard materials came an excellent service and maintenance history. The boat has been well maintained and serviced regularly which is something we have continued to uphold. The boat has many fantastic features that make cruising so much more enjoyable and easier. The boat’s ability to cruise quickly with a high payload and with a great ride make any trip a pleasurable one.  Two self contained cabins make travelling with friends or family much more satisfying. Crew can enjoy the space of their own cabin with their own ensuite and retreat to their quarters for leisure or an afternoon nap.

There are so many extra features on this boat which aren’t all included in the extensive inventory attached. We have been discovering these as we sail the boat and appreciate these wonderful additions. This vessel fit out is one of a very high standard with little, if any signs of wear and lots of real timber features. It has been maintained to the highest standards with regular engine, gen set and outboard services as well as rig inspections and antifouling each year.

I can assure any prospective buyers that you could jump on this cat and sail to anywhere in world in safety and with reliability and confidence.

If you are a serious “Cat buyer” I would recommend an inspection as you will not be disappointed.

Brokers Comments

Cat Man Do is a spectacular, beautifully built, extensively equipped coastal or long range cruising cat. She is lightweight for good performance, easily sailed short handed and well set up for extended independent cruising with a high level of luxury appointments.

The boat has been designed with 2 master cabins, one in each stern, with full sized bathrooms for each. Each hull is an independent living area for a couple. The saloon is vast, the galley also huge with all any gourmet cook could desire. There is a laundry with washer and dryer, loads of water storage plus a watermaker, a wine storage rack, separate drinking water tank, fridge and freezer as well as a cockpit unit that can be either.

The cockpit is vast, safe and dry, has plush upholstered seating, boarding platforms both hulls with open stern access (with gates). A targa arch supports the 3.4m tender powered by Yamaha 5hp outboard or it also has a full sailing kit with carbon mast. There is a complete suite of Raymarine equipment – that means GPS, sounder, radar, pilot, AIS, wind, speed log, charting software and repeaters and remotes from Nav table to cockpit.

A Mastervolt electrical system is fitted also completely integrated, Gel starting batteries, 840amp hrs of AGM house batteries 100 amp hr combi charger and 2000 watt inverter, Mastervolt 3kva Whisper quiet genset in accoustic housing, Kyocera solar panels, reverse cycle airconditioning. Please have a look here in the detailed list at the extensive electrical inventory. The boat also has underwater and under bridgedeck coloured lighting and the most extensive interior lighting system we have seen. It looks fantastic!

The rig is Allyacht Spars with 2012 Doyle sails in very good condition, spars are alloy with park avenue boom, prodder, twin profurl systems, screecher and spinnaker in sock. Winches are all Anderson 2 speed self tailing.

This is an extremely high quality vessel with an amazing inventory of appointments. Most are listed here but we have a detailed inventory and large suite of photos and videos also available so please call for more information.
